The psychotherapists at The Hinterlands are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Aetna. We are out-of-network providers with all other insurance companies including medicaid and medicare. Payment is expected at the time of service.

We are happy to create statements for you to submit toward your out-of-network benefits and will provide monthly superbills to facilitate reimbursement of your psychotherapy services. We accept HSA cards, Zelle, and all major credit cards for payment.

Co-pay estimates are not a guarantee. The exact co-pay amount is not available until after your insurance claim has been fully processed. Once your claim has been processed your insurance company will send The Hinterlands an insurance adjustment fee report that indicates the amount owed by the client.

Not insured? We have a range of cash-pay options including sliding scale sessions. These sessions are based on availability and often fill-up quickly. The fee scale ranges from $25 to the full cost of the session and is dependent on the therapist and form of treatment. 

We have limited sliding scale availability. Ask your therapist if they have slots available during your intake call. 

The Hinterlands therapists offer both virtual and in-person sessions, based on availability. For virtual sessions, you'll receive a link to access your appointment where you can connect with your therapist via video. Our platform can be accessed from any computer, tablet or phone equipped with a camera, directly from the Sessions portal.

Our in-person office is located in Chicago’s Irving Park neighborhood at 3666 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL 60618. 

When you make an appointment with us, we reserve that time slot exclusively for you. As is common practice, we require a minimum of 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule your session. Failure to cancel, reschedule, or show up for your session without the required 24-hour notice will result in a charge for the full cash pay fee for your session. This policy allows our practice to offer the available time slot to waitlisted individuals in need of an appointment.
